Anne specialises in complex, high value cases in all fields of medicine and surgery. She is a qualified doctor and her previous training enables her to engage with clients on a broader base than the law alone.

Partner – Clinical Negligence
Sarah has a particular interest in meningitis cases and those involving complex future loss claims. She also has an interest in how reform in the healthcare sector may impact on patient safety and she has presented to a major trauma NHS Trust on the issue of Duty of Candour.

Tim Spring

Partner – Head of Clinical Negligence
Tim specialises in complex claims involving death and serious neurological injury, including injury arising out of obstetric mis-management. He has a particular interest in ensuring that lessons are learned from individual patient experience within the NHS so that patient care is improved.

John Warchus

John has advised clients on a wide range of complex commercial contracts and IT and IP issues for over 25 years. He helps clients to negotiate and draft complex commercial/technology agreements and related areas such as data protection, social media and procurement issues. John has been recognised in both the Legal 500 and Chambers Directories.

Thomas Middlehurst

Partner – Litigation & Dispute Resolution
Thomas studied Philosophy at the University of Durham before first qualifying as a Barrister from the Inns of Court School of Law and thereafter cross-qualifying as a Solicitor. Thomas joined Calvert Smith & Sutcliffe in January 2013 taking over the running of the Litigation & Dispute Resolution team from Jeremy Williams. A litigation specialist, Thomas' practice covers commercial and general litigation including contractual disputes and insurance disputes, claims in tort, property law, landlord and tenant, private matrimonial and contentious probate. Thomas acts for both private individuals and commercial organisations of all shapes and sizes, his experience being gained in both large international city firms as well as smaller regional firms, most recently DAC Beachcroft. Outside of work Thomas enjoys cycling, golf, rugby (more watching rather than playing these days) and adventure sports, in particular backcountry skiing as and when he can find the time to make it to the slopes.

Katherine Maxwell

Partner – Head of Employment
Katherine handles all aspects of employment law and is experienced in handling boardroom and shareholder disputes, the TUPE issues surrounding a merger and helping on major redundancy programmes. She also advises individual clients on employment contracts, restrictive covenants, redundancies and provides assistance with negotiating exit packages.

Naomi Greenwood

Partner – Employment
Naomi advises both businesses and individuals on employment law matters. She performs a general advisory role to HR, senior management and in-house counsel. She also provides employees with the clear and pragmatic employment law advice they require.

Jan Galloway

Jan has specialised in family law for over 20 years and has particular experience in handling complex financial settlements, often involving assets held in two or more countries. She is an accredited member of the Law Society Family Law Accreditation scheme and a collaborative lawyer.

Katy Shaw

Associate – Family
Katy studied English language and literature at The University of Liverpool before going on to study law at City University and The College of Law. She trained and worked in central London until 1992 when she joined the firm. Katy has over 20 years’ experience in Family Law. Her work includes divorce, separation, financial settlements, cohabitation disputes, pre-nuptial agreements and arrangements regarding children. She is a member of Resolution and the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority’s Family Law Accreditation Scheme which encourage a constructive and conciliatory approach to resolving family issues. Katy lives in Windsor with her husband and two sons.

Trevor has over 30 years experience in the legal profession and has a special interest in brain injury, spinal injury and amputations. He has been commended by Chambers and received the Bar and Law Society's 'Rising Star: Advocate In The Face of Adversity' award. Trevor has significant media experience having featured in the print press and on TV.

Aimee Dooley-Cox

Aimee is a graduate of Durham University where she studied Classics and Ancient History and she holds postgraduate law qualifications from BPP Law School and the College of Law London. Her private client work includes drafting Wills, estate administration, powers of attorney, court of protection work and trusts. Aimee is currently a student member of the Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners. Aimee lives locally and in her spare time enjoys socialising with friends and family.

Ben joined Calvert Smith & Sutcliffe in April 2016, having previously worked at a law firm in South Yorkshire. Ben is a solicitor in the Private Client Department. His work includes drafting wills, estate administration, trusts, powers of attorney and court of protection applications. Away from work Ben plays a variety of sports, enjoys travelling and socialising with family and friends.

Roger Crouch

Roger obtained a degree in modern history from the University of Oxford and then converted to law at the College of Law, Bloomsbury. After initially working for law firms in Somerset, Roger returned to London in 2008 to develop his legal career. Roger joined Calvert Smith and Sutcliffe in September 2016. Roger has over ten years’ experience in dealing with private client matters for individuals from a wide range of backgrounds in a discreet, efficient and empathetic manner. Roger deals with the preparation of Wills, estate administration (probate), the creation and administration of trusts, powers of attorney, tax planning, Court of Protection applications, and advice to the elderly. Roger has particular expertise in resolving complex and sensitive matters including estates with assets overseas. Roger is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Solicitors for the Elderly, and the Charity Law Association. Roger lives locally in Twickenham and enjoys London’s cultural life and frequently goes to the theatre and concerts. He also follows rugby, cycling, and tennis.

Jackie Nash

Jackie is delighted to be joining Calvert Smith & Sutcliffe on The Green in Richmond. She has worked for over 20 years as a residential property solicitor and have built up a broad client base. Jackie has an extensive local knowledge and aims to give a dedicated and efficient service to every client, whether they are first time buyers or property developers. Jackie says “I like to establish clear lines of communication with my clients from the outset and will always make time to discuss any aspect of a transaction”. Having graduated from Cambridge University, Jackie went on to the College of Law for two years for her professional legal training. Jackie began her career as a Solicitor working in Harley Street, and since then has worked locally in Hampton, Twickenham and more recently in Teddington. Jackie enjoys swimming, walking in the countryside, travelling and going to the theatre. She is married with three children and lives in Hampton. “I like to think of myself as a positive, optimistic person – determined to do my best for my clients whatever the challenges along the way”.

Janette Davies

Janette studied at Bristol University. She joined the firm in 1984 and qualified as a solicitor in 1986. She has remained at the firm for the whole of her career. She specialises in all aspects of property work, including the sale and purchase of freehold and leasehold properties, remortgages and transfers of equity. She also deals with lease extensions and freehold acquisitions through enfranchisement under the Leasehold Reform Act. Janette is married and has two grown up daughters. She lives in Hampton.

She specialises in residential/new build conveyancing transactions and has over 7 years in the property sector. Michelle Moore-Saxton

Partner – Real Estate
Michelle is a Chartered Legal Executive and has 20 years’ conveyancing experience with the firm dealing with residential and commercial property including sale and purchase of freehold, leasehold and new build properties and advising clients with their buy to let portfolios. In 1999 she enrolled with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives to attain her legal qualification studying on a part time basis. She became a Fellow of the Institute in 2005. Michelle is married with two children and is an active member of the school PTA and is also a Parish Councillor and a committee member of the under 12’s mini rugby at London Irish Amateur Rugby Football Club. She lives in Sunbury on Thames.

Rob obtained a law degree from London University. He trained with the firm and qualified in 1975. He has specialised in commercial and residential property. He has advised on numerous complex and high value transactions over the years. Many members of the local business community form part of his client base. He lives in Teddington with his wife and they have three grown up children and two granddaughters. He is a keen gardener.

Sarah joins Calvert Smith & Sutcliffe having previously spent 10 years at a major Surrey law firm specialising in enfranchisement. During her previous tenure, Sarah has built up an extensive area of expertise in advising and acting for both landlords and tenants in collective enfranchisement claims, tenant’s claims to acquire the freehold of their house, statutory lease extension claims, right to manage, flat owners exercising their right of first refusal and lease interpretation.

Archie Sherbrooke

Archie trained and qualified at a niche Westminster firm before working for five years at a top London law firm. He joined Moore Blatch as a partner in our commercial property team in May 2017. Archie acts for a broad range of clients including UK institutional funds, trusts, banks, corporate occupiers, family offices, charities and overseas investors. He deals with all aspects of commercial property but specialises in complex investment transactions, acquiring real estate through both onshore and offshore vehicles. Archie specialises in institutional investment and charity property including development work and has worked for institutions on all aspects of their portfolios from sales and purchases to lease re-gearing and management matters. He has advised a number of charities and other not-for-profit organisations on their property requirements including redevelopment of sites, sales and acquisitions of assets and management matters.
